About Us

A friendly, play-based early years setting for children aged 2–5. We offer a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child is supported to develop holistically
Who we are
Our Ethos

Our experience tells us that children learn best through meaningful play.
We believe and treat every child as unique and support them to develop at their own pace.
We promote positive relationships and interaction to ensure that our children build confidence and resilience
We provide a calm, kind environment helps children feel safe to explore.
At the Castle Pre-School, we believe that strong communication with parents fosters a strong and united foundation of support for children to develop securely.
We carefully observe each child’s interests and needs, then plan activities that extend their learning in a natural, enjoyable way.
Working in partnership with you -parents, carers and families.
Our parents, carers and families are our partners as partners.
We will share progress, celebrate milestones and talk openly if we have any worries or if your child needs extra support in any area.
School readiness is an area that we all need support with. We encourage our children to explore through play the concept of trying on uniform, sitting at a desk and engaging in activities that they think they will experience at school to ensure that the activity is based around child-led play.
When children are in their final pre-school year, we build early independence skills like putting on coats, listening during group time, taking turns in conversation and recognising their name.
We have various local school uniforms and incorporate the children becoming familiar with their chosen school by creating a school area in our Understanding the World area.
Supporting children to be ready for school is achieved through play, partnership working and not pressure.
