Meet Our Team

Our dedicated team of early years professionals is passionate about nurturing every child’s development through play, care and meaningful relationships.

Lucy Mottram

My name is Lucy, and I currently serve as the Manager at Castle Pre-School, where I have been since 2012. I have 28 years of experience working in early years education and have held a management role since 2021.

I am enthusiastic, punctual, and reliable, and I consistently perform well under pressure. I pride myself on being determined, highly organized, and motivated by new challenges—this is more evident than ever as I am currently studying for my Level 7 in Early Years Professional Leadership.

Nicola Martin

I have been employed at Castle Pre-School for ten years and recently took on the role of SENDCO. I have gained valuable experience and knowledge since beginning this position.

I love working in partnership with families and professionals to achieve the best outcomes for our children.

Charlotte Weaver

I have been employed at the Castle Pre-School for over ten years and have recently began the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Safeguarding.

I love working with our children and really enjoy organising events and our crafts.

Harriet Henderson

I am Harriet and I have been a mum for 8 years and have developed a love for working with children. I decided to make the career change to work at Castle Pre-School.

I started at the pre-school in January 2025 and I have decided to pursue an apprenticeship in the Early Years to develop my knowledge and skills.  I am so excited and eager to see where this career takes me.

Justine Moran

I am currently completing my Level 3 Early Years apprenticeship and I am excited about the new areas of my development.

I have had an extensive career working with children throughout my working life and I love getting to know the children and watching them grow, develop and achieve within early years.

Angie Newman

I have been a part of Castle Pre-School for eight years. I love working in partnership with the children and their families and developing great working relationships to support the children’s development.

Outside of work, I enjoy family walks with my family and our dog, engaging in arts and crafts, and exploring nature.

Sarah Sheene

Level 3 Early Years Educator

For the past five years, I have been a stay-at-home mother and a student host, and I recently had the opportunity to start a new career in early years education and I took it!

I am also a qualified hairdresser and interior designer and whilst I love being creative, I have found that my real passion is in working with children at the pre-school. I love engaging in activities, observing their exploration, and supporting their development. I am eager to bring my creativity and dedication to the pre-school and will begin my teacher training in September 2026.

Catherine Bargent

I have worked at Castle Pre-School for just over 4 years. I have a degree in Occupational Therapy but changed careers when I had my family. I am mum to 3 grown up children. I have worked in a variety of pre-schools and one school setting over the last 22 years.

I am passionate about introducing our pre-school children to gardening and nature and love being outdoors. I value closely working with children, building strong relationships and helping establish a positive baseline for their lifelong learning. I am excited and looking forward to training to become a Maths Champion over the next year with a focus on supporting mathematical development and improving the outcomes for children.

Shannan Jackson

I am Shannan! I am a Level 3 Early Years Educator and I have a degree. I have worked at the Castle Pre-School for eight years.

I have loved working with our children for many years and enjoy the connections I make with each child and their carers. I love group games and enjoy teaching children to enjoy the small wins such as drawing in the lines, enjoying a craft activity and I really enjoy supporting them to develop their independence and life skills such as putting on their coat and shoes.

Demi Ennis

I am Demi! I am a Level 3 Early Years Educator and I have worked at the Castle Pre-School since January 2024.

Prior to this, I was a qualified Social Worker and I spent time as a stay-at-home mum! I really enjoy engaging with the children and developing activities in line with the children’s interests.
